Tim and I are wrapping up our first few months working together and living together.
What have I learned?
- Like in many other things, communication is the key! Tim and I were so close going into this venture that it's sometimes hard for us to default to 'professional' communication regarding business matters. We talk to each other much more intimately (read: bluntly) than you would your typical coworker. We've both had to be very conscience of this.
- We had to work out our 'roles' within the company so that we each have a realistic picture of what is/should be going on. We also have a running 'tasks' board listing who is responsible for what.
- Tim is my boss. Sometimes he likes my ideas. Sometimes I have to bite my tongue and suck it up.
- I *love* eating lunch at home. We still eat quick 'lunch' foods, but we have the selection of our whole kitchen! No more packing lunches!! We have also gone out to eat for dinner more often. It's a great excuse to get out of the house in the evening!
- Tim and I can really make this work!
